what symbol identifies motor oil meets tough cma standards
All major brands meet API standards. Look on the bottle and it will state this.
Any high quality 5W30 oil should meet the standards. However, I've only put FULL synthetic in our Saturn since we purchased it new.
BP blows
Any SAE approved 5w30 motor oil will work in this engine. Note: if you are working this truck pretty hard such as towing something you may want to go with a 10w40 motor oil. As for brand, any oil sold in the US has to meet minimum standards to get an SAE approval. I personally prefer Valvoline but all of them are pretty good.
All major brands of motor oil are manufactured to the same standards. To pick a best if impossible. But saying that Synthetic is superior to conventional oil.

ILSAC (International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee - U.S. & Japanese auto/truck manufacturers standards for motor oil)

All of them, I've bought it in California. It just has to meet the standards of that state.
