To be honest Windows Movie Maker is the best out there unless you're willing to fork out some cash to purchase a professional program. There are few that are decent but I'd stick to Windows Movie Maker until someone releases something else. It is very tedious to learn I agree, but it's well worth the time if Movie Making is a passion of yours.

im afraid i cannot answer that directly however there is a free installation you can download called AVS video editor that does all the features of windows movie maker and more! its safe and much easier to get your movie onto than windows movie maker, i hope this helped
