There are pros and cons. The pros are that the cars are serviced regularly and all maintenance is performed as it should be. You can usually buy one at less than the retail value. The cons are that it is a rental car driven by people that do not own the car and have no vested interest in the car. Therefore they may or may not drive the car as they would one they own. They may basically beat the car to death and drive it in a manner you would never drive a car you actually own. Personally I would never buy a rental car.
