Passive-aggressive behavior is one of the narcissists' favorite tools.
There is no such thing as a 'compensatory narcissist'. It is a fake term made up by psychopath Sam Vaknin (see Related Links). No Contact with a Narcissist is always best.
The one one thing that makes them go crazy is to be ignored.
a scumbag narcissist
No. Narcissists think that they are the most important thing in life.
By getting a good lawyer. Seriously, that's really the only thing that matters; the fact that YOU THINK your soon-to-be-ex is a narcissist is legally irrelevant.
setting boundaries is a must but NO CONTACT is the ONLY thing that "helps"
Yes he would, but take a peice out of him and he'll take a chunk out of you, best thing to do to a narcissist is to ignore him, that will affect him more than anything.
The best thing to do is to continue to be who and what you are. If the person is truly a narcissist, this is or will become clear to everyone else. The worst things you can do are to act defensively, or try to damage the reputation of the person.
It's normal and it's the thing to do. By staying in touch with the friends of the narcissist it still links you to the narcissist. Move on and start a new future. What friends? A true narcissist has no real loyal friends. They are known as supply. Those friends who are true to you will "self select" and will make their choice when you break up. However, if they want to maintain contact with the "narcissist" then you need to set them free. It just creates chaos in your life.
It's difficult to prove a negative. If a narcissist finds out some of those characteristics, all he has to do is be a good actor. Not being a narcissist is the only quality one could have to prove one is not a narcissist. There is no act a person can perform or one thing a person can do that would prove once and for all that the person is not and never has been and never will be a narcissist. Yet all the same, if you are not a narcissist, other people will recognize this fact, just as if you are, that too will come to light. Empathy. Narcissist's do not posess it nor do they understand it.
A borderline. Essentially a more emotionally reactive narcissist.
It can be possible to be friends with a narcissist but do not expect much from this person. Also expect the friendship not to be very fufilling and mostly one sided (on your part) The one thing that does help is that you already know that he/she is a narcissist so you will understand why they do or say most things. I say give it a shot but do not expect too much like a friendship where that person will always be there for you no matter what because that just will not happen. I know this from experience. GOODLUCK!
