Is there supposed to be zero backlash rotational play in an inboard CV joint For example hold the axle shaft and turn the housing back and forth. There is play when I do it?

Most inner CV joints are whats called a tripod joint. There should be no play in it at all if the inner housing is held tight and the shaft rotated back & forth while holding it straight out from the inner joint. If there is then you need to remove the boot clamp on the larger end and take the shaft apart to inspect for wear & damage. The best thing to do as if there is play in it is to replace the shaft with a rebuild, usually about $75.00 and solve the problem without getting too far into it. You don't have the equipment to rebuild it yourself as the channels where the rollers ride will probably be worn as well as the needle bearings in the rollers so why bother.

How can you fix the switch for the moonroof after it has been pushed up into the housing on a 1993 Ford Taurus SHO?
The same thing happened to my 95 SHO. What I did to fix it is glue the part of the switch that is supposed to remain still back into place using "Automotive Goop." That's the real name of the stuff, I got it from AutoZone. I spread a small amount up and inside the floor of the housing and on the part of the switch that is supposed to be secured. You can tell what parts are supposed to touch the floor of the housing by trying to pull the switch down through the hole. Be sure to use glue on every part that is supposed to remain still on the housing. I then fed the switch back down through the hole in the housing and held it there with my fingers for a few minutes to let the glue set. Waited a few hours before using the switch again and it works fine and the glue has stayed for at least a year now. Sorry for my terrible explanation, if you need a better description feel free to email me.
