Actually, if Mt. Baker blew in any significant way, Colville is right in the middle of the likely ashfall. When St. Helens blew, places to the west weren't affected, but the southeast of the state had enough ash to cause some real problems. Now just how likely Baker is to go off, who knows? But if it does, Colville is more likely to suffer than Bellingham, which is only fifty or sixty miles to the west.
