For the 32 gallon fish tank, a general rule of thumb is one fish per gallon. The size of your fish makes a big difference to. The bigger the fish the more room its going to need. Your tank sounds a little crowded. I hope that helped you out.
small tetras, bottom-feeding catfish(NOT CHINESE ALGAE EATERS) and other live-bearers,
Bigger fish eat angelfish such as catfish.
Bristlenose catfish
Chinese catfish can grow to a length of 4 to 5 centimeters.
just some background on what i was thinking. i was thinking 2 sparkiling gouramis, 2 licorice gouramis and 3-4 panda Cory catfish. would these work? if not can you suggest other options. i realy want to get sparkiling gouramis, so if you could suggest other tankmates for it if the ones i suggest don't work. thanks
Black Ghost Knife Fish are semi-agressive. They should be fine though. The angelfish should be fine.
It depends on the catfish. if it is a small catfish ( 1-5 inches) sometimes the angelfish will try to eat it. if it is a medium sized catfish (6-9inches) you will be fine. BUT if you get a large catfish (10 inches and over) it will terrorize your angelfish by nipping at the angelfishes fins and if big enough will eat it. some of the catfish you can mix is a Cory catfish, Redtail catfish, upside down catfish and rubber lip catfish but that is all. Another thing is you should get the fish when they are young because angelfish are territorial. one last thing is that to mix the two fish you should get a tank 25 gallons or over or they will be too crammed and die even though 25 gallons is pretty large angelfish can grow up to 10 inches and all of the catfish that can mix can grow up to 7 inches
I do not know of any such list having been compiled. There are literally thousands of species of fish.
no. EDIT: Incorrect. Fishyfisher82 has a two year old veil angelfish in a 36gal tank (and all the size that implies) with a trio of glass cats who have been coexisting for well over a year. So long as the fish can swim quickly and are not too tiny, and you only have ONE angelfish, you're fine. Angelfish will most likely eat guppies, though.

Probably a large Cory catfish (they only get to 3-4 inches) so that it doesn't get eaten or attacked by the Angelfish. P.S. the Angelfish needs a tank of at least 30 gallons to be happy.
