Is tony shalhoub from the middle east?

Tony Shalhoub is of Lebanese descent, and Lebanon is in Middle east, but he was born in the United States.

As I understand it, Tony's father was born in Lebanon and came to the U.S. an orphan, at the age of 10. My sources say that Tony's mother was a second-generation U.S. born Lebanese-American. I take it to mean that she, as well as her parents were born in the U.S. but her grandparents immigrated from Lebenon.
