TracPhone is the number one wireless prepaid service provider in the US. You are assured to have a good service from them. They have no contract plans.
No
If your handset is unlocked - it's as simple as replacing the Verizon SIM card with one from Tracfone. If it's locked to Verizon, you'll have to get a PAC (port authorization code) from Verizon - which they shouldn't (but may) charge you for. Once you have the PAC - give it to Tracfone, and they'll transfoer your account from Verizon (usually within a day or two).
TracFone uses both Verizon and AT&T's network to provide service to their customers. The network you have depends on your location.
To me i think sprint is better than Verizon.
Tracfone is a MVNO (Mobile Vertual Network Operator) which is a fancy way to say they are a reseller. They buy minutes from Verizon and sell them to their customers. Tracfone is the oldest of the MVNOs. (They weren't even called that back then). Essentially, the network is the same but you pay a lot less on Tracfone's prepaid service. Verizon is a carrier using CDMA technology (as does Sprint). It is difficult to switch CDMA phones from one network to another. Its much easier on GSM which is the technology used by T-Mobile and AT&T. In fact, 95% of all networks in the world are GSM. The Bottom Line - You may be able to find a local Tracfone dealer who can "re-program" (hack) your Verizon phone to work on Tracfone. The main reason you'd want to do this is that Tracfone's service is really cheap but they offer only really crappy phones.
They used to be but now Verizon take's the stand. Good question.
yes yes it is :)
I think they are both great!
The higher priced tracfone may have better reception than a lower priced one, but it does not guarantee it. There might be other features on the higher priced phone but look at the reviews for reception before making a purchase.
I been trying for 2 days hoping to find the same answer.
It is your choice witch one is better. If you like optimum then that's good for you. And if you like Verizon then that's good for you. I am voting for both.
No they are not. Verizon phone plans are better. They may be a bit more expensive, but they have better coverage. The coverage of Virgin is a bit sketchy and patchy. If you want reliability, go with Verizon.
Verizon
