To buy @ the gas station, yes. That wasn't always true. 10 years ago diesel was cheaper as it should be! Diesel is less refined than unleaded so, if there are less steps there is less labor, less chemical interaction, etc. Unfortunately, fuel is a commodity regulated by supply & demand. 18 wheelers aren't going away anytime soon & they consume alot of diesel fuel! They are usually owned by big trucking companies who foot the bill, so to speak. Diesel engines are more durable in the long run so, it comes down to a matter of preference.
