Yes living things...it grows, moves and needs enegry...may be it can reproduce as well but our life is too short to notice this...
for example 1000s of years back some of the mountains were never there so they were made naturally and not by humans...similarly 1000s of years back few mountains were there which are not there now, so they are dead maybe

The distinction between alive and not-alive is that of being able to consume resources (eat) and create a new generation (reproduce). Mountains do neither; therefore mountains are not alive.

However, there are many living things on and in a mountain.

No, a mountain is not a living thing. Although it might have trees and other life forms like animals, or plants that does not make it a living thing. Then the question you might ask is what about avalanches? Avalanches are simply parts of the mountain that are erupting. This can be caused by too much snow and a loud sound breaks it apart or to much snow pacts on top of each other cause the weight to be too much. And thus an avalanche.
