In additive synthesis (light), White is a combination of all colors (Red, Green, an Blue)... In subtractive synthesis (pigment), White is the absence of all color.

Of course, white is not really a color at all, but is used as a color reference.

A person can technically argue that black and white are the same, because neither one is a color of itself, and both are the combination of all colors, but don't expect anyone to believe it (they are exact opposites).

To make the answer short, white light is the combination of additive colors red, green and blue. Equal portions of these colors have to combine to make white light.

Difference between white and black color?

AnswerBlack and white are not really colors, in the sense of having a specific hue. Black is the absense of all light, while white is the presence of every color of light. A white lightbulb is really emitting tons of red, yellow, green, blue, and purple light all at the same time.

Why does white color reflects more light than a dark color?

white is all the colours mixed together e.g. white light is made up of red, blue and green light. Black is the absense of colour, it isn't actually a colour the same as white isn't a colour. White's all the colours together. This is why it reflect's other colours better.

Are black and white colors or shades?

Shades and colors are the same thing. Anything that you can see has some color, it just might be described as a shade of red because to you its not what you would define as pure red. With that being said, true black is actually NOT a color as it reflects no light and it is the absense of color. However, there is nothing besides a "black body" in space that is pure black. White is a reflection of all colors - pure white or a shade of white - that is left up to your interpretation (unless you are a chemist or physicists as they have strict definitions of these things).

What makes white and black?

White, black, and all colors in between are just a small portion of a larger spectrum of energy. White items are those where all visible colors are reflected by an object. So, when something looks white, that is because you are seeing all of the colors of the rainbow at once. Black is just the opposite. Black is what you see when all of the colors are absorbed. In essence, black is the absense of color, and white is the combination of all colors.
