I would not eat that beetroot with white mould on it, it's probably unhealthy and could make a person sick with food-poisoning. It's better to compost it.
And, as an aside, if a person has a headache, eat 3-5 pieces of canned or tinned beetroot or red beet: it does cure headaches, so keep some tins in your cupboard if you like.
Any mold CAN be harmful, especially if you are allergic. No area of significant mold growth within the home should be considered safe.
