What part does religion play in determining the outcome of The Crucibles?

Religion plays a big part in the crucible because with Rev. Parris being a rev. and his daughter, Betty, coming down with one of the first cases of witch craft the first one he turns to is rev. Hale. Together they turn to God and religion become a part of the play. On the other hand the whole entire play is based on the absence of religion because of the witch craft so religion is the base of the play.

This person above me said that Witchcraft created an absense of religion... that is wrong on so many levels. For one, Witchraft can be considered a religion, a way of life, it has its own belief and value systems. So the entire play is about religion in one way or another, and the intolerance of Puritains of anything that goes against what they beleive.

Why would the puritan women want to study witch craft?

They didn't. People thought they did, so there were trials.

What is the highest rank of witch on the sims 2 apartment life?

The witch rankings go as follows: So-And-So the Infallibly Good Witch/Warlock, So-and-So the Good Witch/Warlock, So-and-So the Nice Witch/Warlock, So-and-So the Mean Witch/Warlock, So-and-So the Evil Witch/Warlock, and So-and-So the Atrociously Evil Witch/Warlock. Obviously, the highest rankings would be the Infallibly Good Witch/Warlock and the Atrociously Evil Witch/Warlock, depending on what type of witch/warlock transformed you (although you can always change alignments). :-) There is also a neutral witch/warlock, but I don't know what the title is. Hope that helps! =)

What would happen if you confessed to being a witch in a salem witch trials?

Sometimes but most of the time if you confessed you were spared. They did this so you could keep up accusations and this way the Salem witch craft trials continued.

Why does the Christian Right hate Harry Potter?

Something about the Christian religion not accepting witch craft, and having something to do with the devil. In an interesting aside, most of the vitriol from the Christian religion was directed at Harry Potter before the 7th book (Deathly Hallows) came out and it was revealed that the entire series was based on the Christian religion. The Christian right appears to have decided that maybe Harry Potter wasn't so bad after all.

What is consequences of witch craft?

In medieval times, there was was a point where the consequences for being considered a witch were horrible. If others pointed at you and said 'She/he is a witch!', then you would be tested. They didn't even try to find out if that person was telling the truth. They would tie you up, and chuck you in the river. If you sunk, you weren't a witch, but if you didn't you were, and they would kill you. So in the end, either way you would die!

How many were convicted of witch craft and hung?

In the Salem witch trails, 19 people we know of were hung, though there might have been more. Over 150 people were accused of witchcraft, and they became social outcasts since their reputation was so tarnished by the accusation.
