Workers comp insurance has nothing to do with family members. Workers comp insurance is an insurance policy that your employer will have on if in case you get hurt at work.
Yes. Kentucky work comp requirements are very specific. If you have one or more employees, you have required to provide work comp coverage for those employees.
WC coverage is required for full- and part-time workers.
if you are on a no work status, are you required to go on interviews as per your Voc Rehab?
they are only required to carry workers comp, if there is atleast 5 employees that work in the retail part of the production.... but this excludes milkers, farm hands, ect. you may need to look in to see if a liability insurance is required
I'm not entirely certain what you mean by this. You can legally receive unemployment benefits and do part-time work, though you are required to report your earnings to the unemployment office and your benefits will be reduced by some percentage based on what you earn. There's no specific law anywhere I'm aware of that says you can work for family members and have it legally "not count" as work somehow.
Yes you do have to be injured at work to receive workers comp. That is why there are different types of leave from work due to injury. Workers comp is what you claim when injured at work. If you are injured away from work but cannot go back to work you would file under either short term or long term disability depending on how long you were required to be off for.
I know that if you are on workers comp, they don't want you to work at all. Even if it is a cashier job, because that will mean that you can work, but you are not working.
Even if Illinois provides an exemption from this, aren't these the people you want to protect more than anyone? Aren't these the people who expect you to take care of them? Workers' Comp pays lifetime medical for work-related injuries, and can retrain a worker who can't perform his old job any more due to a work-related injury. Even if you provide or they have health insurance, who will pay those premiums if they can't work? Please carry Comp.
What about work comp in Michigan?
if you are off work and leaving and get hurt is that workers comp
