It depends on what state your claim is in. In some states, WC will pay for your travel to and from doctor/PT appointments. They pay a set amount per mile, and that amount is dictated by state law. Some states will only pay if you have to travel a certain amount of miles for treatment, or if you treat out of the county. Some states will not pay for your travel expenses.
I handle a couple states as a workers' compensation adjuster. Illinois does not reimburse for mileage. Michigan pays $.50 per mile.
I would recommend checking with the agency that governs WC in your state. There is usually a website out there, and it would be listed on there.

It is illegal for you to file a work related claim on your personal insurance. Such claims must be covered by work comp per the Worker's Compensation Act. If your health insurance finds out, they can demand repayment.
