Yoga is not considered weight-lifting because you are not actually using any part of your body to actually lift something of weight. Yoga is a free-body excercise/course in that it requires nothing but a mat and some time to relax..

Yes, I would agree that it's been commercialized and it's core lost to the majority, cliche masses. But to the finite few who make strive to incorporate its values into their lifestyle, it becomes more than simply exercise, but in all fairness it is an exercise nonetheless, for the mind and body to become "nothing" which is the goal, in turn denying the label "I".
