Jacob was Isaac son and it can be found in Genesis chapter 28.

Answer:

"Jacob" in prophecy refers to the Jews, of course, as well as all the other "lost tribes" of the House of Israel, who were scattered among the nations centuries ago by Assyria, whose descendants have since been reestablished in the world today as their own nations... but, who lost the link to their heritage and think themselves to be "Gentiles."

"Jacob's trouble" is a latter day prophecy by Jeremiah for these lost nations, the House of Israel and the House of Judah [the Jews]:

"...lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of My people Israel and Judah..." (Jer.30:3).

While it seems that "Jacob" was never out of trouble from birth... his descendants, the ten lost tribes of the House of Israel became lost to world history, absorbed by the Gentile nations in the world... and the Jews [Judah] seem to be at odds with the entire world to this very day.

But Jeremiah lays out the time frame for this particular "trouble" as being during the "Great Tribulation," which The Bible refers to as "a time in the world like no other in the history of the world."

"...for then shall be Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be [again]." (Matt.24:21)

Jeremiah says: "ALAS! For that day is Great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of JACOB'S TROUBLE, but he shall be save out of it." (Jer.30:7)

Jesus tells us the ongoing plagues of man; false religions, wars, famine, pestilences and diseases, will eventually increase and develop into the Great Tribulation, which He calls a time of "labor pains"... "sorrows" or "woes": "...all these things are the beginning of sorrows." (Matt.24:8). [sorrows: "pangs or throes; especially of child birth." - Strong's Definitions]

"Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?" (Jer.30:6)

Paul says of the Day of the Lord, the time of Jesus' return: "...yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." (I Thess.5:2-3)

"Jacob's Trouble" is prophesied for the time of the Great Tribulation - a unique and unprecedented time of pain, distress and suffering in world history like no other.

"...there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And THEN SHALL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY." (Luke 21:25-27)

The time of "Jacob's Trouble" will be during the Great Tribulation, which is prophesied to occur just before the Day of the Lord - the time of Jesus' return to the earth in wrath.
