During World War II, the event that served as the final catalyst for the Japanese surrender to the Allies was the dropping of a second atomic bomb upon Japan by American air forces. On August 9, 1945, the Japanese city of Nagasaki was destroyed completely by this bomb. Less than one week later, the Japanese initiated a total surrender to the Allies.
It had not been fully developed or tested until after Germany had surrendered. 1st test was July 16, 1945. http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/atomictest.htm
the pearl harbor attacks occurred all throughout 1941, but even before that, it started after japan invaded Manchuria.
No, it was not even a war. It was a US-USSR standoff. The only nuclear war ever fought ended WW2. It lasted from August 6, 1945 (when Hiroshima was bombed) until August 14, 1945 (when Japan surrendered). It only included two nuclear attacks. Japan surrendered just 4 days before the third bomb was ready (although it probably would not have arrived on Tinnian and been prepared for delivery until late August.)!
Even after both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were hit with atomic bombs, the Japanese government took a vote and still refused to surrender. Japan only agreed to surrender when their Emperor told them to do so. The Emperor wanted peace, but was considered a God and, thus, was supposed to stay above politics. He intervened at the request of the Japanese leaders who wanted peace. The US went in filming the destruction the bombs had caused.

No. They fought bravely until they were beaten into submission by the US and two cities destroyed by atomic bombs. Japan Surrendered at the emperor's orders but even then there was a failed coup d'etat by the Japanese army that did not want to surrender and fight to the last man woman and child on Japan.

If you are talking about the atomic bombs, the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima from the Enola Gay. An even stronger atomic bomb was later dropped on Nagasaki. 5 days later, Japan surrendered ending WWII.
After America dropped Little Boy, the hydrogen bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan refused to surrender, despite the entire city being reduced to rubble. As a result, America created Fat Man, a phosphorus bomb, and dropped it on Nagasaki. This immediately resulted in an even bigger disaster and the Japanese immediately surrendered. So in short, the bombings caused major destruction of the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima and Japan surrendered after the second explosion.

Beyond the deaths and injuries to hundreds of thousands of people, and the complete destruction of 2 large cities, it provided the push required for the Japanese government to surrender, and end the war at once. Without that push, the war could have continued for a longer time, causing even more deaths and injuries.
Believe or not, the said it was a blessing from god. They were sick of the war and wanted the end of it.
