Same problem here. I went to start mind and it turned over a time
or two and stopped. JOHN DEERe mechanic told me it is probably the neutral switsh located on top of the transmission. I will start there.

If its diesel, get the gas out. Drain the tank. Fill with diesel. Loosen injector lines. Crank engine. When fuel squirts from injector tighten line. Crank and should start right up. For more information see the answer to the Related Question shown below.
