How do you change the oil filter on a 1999 BMW K1200LT?
On the underside of the bike, near the front, there is a panel with 3 bolts. Remove the panel, then you'll need an oil filter wrench (the kind where you attach a socket wrench to the top). Be sure to remove the old o-ring before you replace the filter, otherwise the panel will crack when you go to screw it back on.

The air filter is under the fuel tank on the K1200LT, you will only change these during full services, the air filter recommended change is listed at every 12,000 miles but it will not need it that soon unless you live down a dusty dirt road. This is a decent size job since the tupperware on both sides and stingray must be removed to get at the fuel tank.
How do you replace the air filter on a 2000 BMW k1200lt motorcycle?
You will have to remove the Left and Right engine farings and the faring at the Top ( around the radio controls ) then remove the gas tank...air filter is under the gas tank..(the best place to hide the filter) may want to change the fuel filter as well...when disconnecting the fuel lines be sure to properly re-connect them. This is a bit of a job. Removing all the screws and popping off the faring sides. Should take about an hour.

Remove skid plate. Relieve pressure on two 'front' hex socket screws holding the oil filter cover on, be ready with a pan, relieve pressure on the rear-most screw and the oil will run out (all over the place if you are not careful.) Then remove last screw, remove oil filter, etc. The manual calls for a piece of material to be cut to shape to fit under the filter to guide the waste oil into a container so as not to make a mess.
