the value of flint is about $470,000,000 This is FALSE !
No. You can scrape a knife against the side of the flint to make sparks.

If the Zippo won't strike, it probably has an old flint stuck in the flint tube. You can take a small nail and tap it gently until it comes in contact with the striker wheel.
Remove the zippo from the case and unscrew the spring for the flint hole. set the spring inside the zippo case along with the flint and the grab tweezers and remove the cotton filling. this will allow for a smoother pull later.grab your tweezers and pull the wick carefully to the brim on the where it lights then snip at an angle off the carbon piece. once that's done put the cotton in the opposite way we pulled it so the last piece you pulled goes in first and so on. add the last cotton piece then put the flint back in and add the flint spring back in. now you put it back inthe case and give it a light!
If you have not tried spinning the wheel on the Zippo try that. I know that seems obvious but someone might not know that. Or if you have tried that and it does not work then you need a flint for your Zippo. These are usually sold separately from the Zippo. Once you have the Zippo flint you can place it into the lighter by removing the Zippo from the case by grasping the chimney (the thing with holes in it once you open the lighter) and the case and pulling them in opposite directions. Once the two pieces are separate, you look at the lighter's bottom, there should be a screw and some soft cloth. Unscrew the screw to replace the flint. after removing the screw and the spring, drop a flint in the hole while holding the lighter upside down, place the spring in the hole, then screw the screw back in.
There are not alot of parts on a zippo lighter which is why it is such a reliable lighter. the main components are the flint, chimeny, flint wheel, case, case insert, cotton balls, wick, cam (that's what makes the famous zippo cling), and felt pad. there are other littlle components such as pins and the hinge on the case as well. you can replace all of the following parts yourself: the wick and flint. if you have any other problems you can send your zippo to the zippo factory in pennsillvaina and they will either fix it or replace it free of charge. hope I helped
no because it will not work it wont light the flint
im not sure if you mean taking the fluid from a regular lighter and putting that into a zippo or just simply zippo to zippo but I'll answer both. I wouldn't recomend putting normal butane lighter fluid into a zippo because it runs out really fast and makes the flame far too big to be practical. if you want to change fuel from one zippo to another simply remove the insert, peel back the first felt layer, take out the cotton from inside and putting that cotton into the other zippo. hope that helped :)
take 2 pliers and pull back the thing attached to the wheel but why would you?
I usually refill mine about twice a week. This also depends on how big the Zippo is and how often it's used.
If the lighter is damaged not through abuse, it can be sent back to Zippo to be repaired free of charge. You do have to pay shipping charges. OR it depends on how its broke. you can replace the flint which is sold in most wallmarts or gas stations or you can replace the wick which you can usally find at the places i listed above.
Standard cotton balls. 5 for full sized, 4 for slim. Alternately you can keep an eye on eBay, I've seen Zippo branded packaging material on there OR send the lighter back to Zippo, they'll fix it up and return it to you with both your old and a new insert complete with new wick, flint, and packing.
yes i know u can iv'e seen it done but just not exactly sure how wish i could be of more help =] peace
