Some faucets use the water pressure to open the seal after it has been released by the handle. It may be that the seal is tight and slow to move after it has been released. One other thing to check, is your water pressure ok at this faucet.

Why would just the kitchen faucet sputter when first turned on and no others?

If this faucet has a spray hose, turn on the faucet and open the spray hose. This will adjust the diverter in the kitchen faucet to the spray and pressureize the hose. This will allow the faucet to equilize and the sputter will stop if the spray diverter is working. It could be that the diverter part in the faucet is defective.

What could be wrong with a new bathtub faucet dispensing rusted water for the first 3 seconds when turned on?

I bet somewhere in the faucet the installer used a black iron nipple for the spout or shower head. The nipple rust very quickly. A few seconds of water rinses it out. The nipple will start leaking in the future.

How-to-Install-a-Kitchen-Faucet?

How to Install a Kitchen FaucetWhether replacing a broken fixture or as part of a remodel, follow these steps to install your new kitchen faucet. The first step is to choose the faucet that matches your kitchen decor. Always read the manufacturer's instruction concerning how to make the necessary connections. Ensure that you have all the required parts and tools on hand. The faucet should come with a rubber gasket to seal the space between the countertop and the faucet. If not, use plumbers' putty. Place the faucet in its proper location. Secure the faucet in place with the large plastic nuts using a plumber's basin wrench. Do not over tighten plastic nuts. Now use the appropriate length flexible supply line that has a braided steel covering to connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Make the connection to the water line first. Flush the line so sediment and debris don't reach the faucet. The flexible line has a larger connection on one end that attaches to the faucet. The smaller, 3/8th in. fitting connects to the water supply line. The next step is to connect the sprayer. Use the supplied gasket or putty to create the seal between the decorative ring and the countertop. Secure the ring in place with the washer and plastic nut. Slide the sprayer through the ring and connect it to the faucet. Test your new faucet. Use a bucket to catch the water if a drain line is not installed.

Why does cold water come out of a hot faucet first?

Unless there is a recirculating pump the hot water has to come from the hot water heater. Depending on how far away it is from the faucet, it can take 15 to 30 seconds for the hot water to get there. Since there is nothing in the pipe to keep the water hot, it cools down between uses.

How do you fix slow running kitchen faucet?

There are a few things you can do. First wrap the hot water lines from the water heater to the faucets. You can also install a hot water circulation system that basically circulates hot water to the faucet 24/7. This allows you to have almost instant hot water each time you turn it on. You can also install a small on demand water heater near that faucet. It will produce hat water when the faucet is turn on. There is no storage tank on this type unit. They are very small and can fit under a sink.

How to Install a Kitchen Faucet?

If your kitchen faucet is old, leaking, or simply out of place amongst your new kitchen decor, it may be time to replace it. Here are the basics of how to install a new faucet as well as a few tips on making the task as easy as possible.Turn Off the WaterTo avoid a wet, sloppy disaster, make sure to turn off the water supply to your sink before tackling this task. If your sink doesn't have a specific shutoff valve, you may have to climb up to the roof and use the valve connected to your water tank. Once the water is off, turn on your sink faucet to drain any excess water from the pipes.Detach the Old FaucetA basin wrench is essentially for removing an old kitchen faucet and installing a new one. The coupling nuts that connect the faucet to its supply tubes are behind the faucet. Use your basin wrench to unscrew these. Once the supply tubes are disconnected, unscrew the mounting nuts that keep the faucet in place and lift the assembly slightly to reveal the nut attaching the sprayer hose to the faucet. Use your basin wrench to unscrew this nut as well.Position the New FaucetInstead of setting the new faucet in place then crawling under the sink to hook it up, connect as many connections to the faucet as possible before setting it in place, and then feed the lines down underneath the sink through the holes. This is usually possible at least with the sprayer hose and sometimes with the hot and cold valves.Seat the faucet in place, making sure that the gasket is lined up right, and then crawl under the sink and screw on the mounting nuts to keep the faucet in place. Tighten these first with your fingers, then with your basin wrench.Connection Odds and EndsUse your basin wrench to attach any connections you weren't able to get to above the sink, such as the shutoff valves, and double check to make sure all connections are as tight as possible. Turn the water back on either from your roof or from under your sink, and check on your new faucet to make sure that everything is running smoothly and there are no leaks. Turn on both hot and cold valves and try out any additional features that may have come with the new faucet. Make sure you are completely satisfied before putting away your tools.
