You might try re-programing your remote. If the dealer already did this, you may have to: Check the battery in the remote, it may be weak or dead. Readily available locally. Isolate and test the Drivers door lock micro-switch. Otherwise it may be in the Alarm unit itself. All are available New and Used on-line from places like: Motorcars LTD and landroversalvage.ca for a lot less than the dealer cost. Do the simple inexpensive things first as the dealer will hit you hard in the wallet for these things.
Defective, corroded, or loose battery cable.
The phone is probaly already shorted out and nonfunctional, changing the battery would likely do nothing as the damage is already done.
Make sure the mouse is plugged in and or/ has a working battery if it is wireless, if nothing works get a new one.

They typically last about 100 deep cycles or so for me. You probably noticed the battery not lasting quite as long at first and then poof, nothing. At best I get two years.
