uneven wear could be one of a couple of things. The tire pressure could be too high or too low. The rear alignment could be off. Or if the tires were rotated and the front end was out of alignment, then the wear will continue even though the tire is now on the rear.
If like the 2000. it is in the rear on the left side, there is a door there and the jack is inside.

Did you check if the bulb is ok? Normally if a bulb is burned out the speed of the indicator inside the car increases significantly.
Well you have a fuse box near the front rear on the left side and you also have a small box on the inside left near the hood release
On the rear of the left hand side is a little door that you have to slide open. The on button is right inside that door.
