The liberal reforms aimed to modernise and improve the health and welfare for British people. This was done after concerns that British people were becoming to un-healthy to maintain a strong British workforce and military which could compete with other nations such as Germany which were trying to compete in the imperilism seen in the 1800's.liberal reforms such as old age pensions 1908, free school meals in 1906, free medical care for children twice a year in schools in 1907, and in 1911 MP's were paid so less rich people could have a say in government affairs.
