Lincoln Mark viii you were told that the struts off of a Taurus would bolt right on in place of the air bags is this true?

It should work however you will probably need rubber spacers in each spring because the Mark is a heavier vehicle and may not be properly supported by the Taurus components. These can be acquired at an auto parts store. I had a similar issue with a '94 Continental with a converted suspension from a Taurus.

with a flat screwdriver pop the clips off of the top and bottem and they come right off, replacing is easier just position the part in place and snap the new clips on

I just had a price quoted to replace the struts on a 1996 Camry: $1050.00. This includes alignment. (Firestone) My 2001 Taurus cost $475 for front struts,rear shocks and alignment at Dobbs. Not sure about a Camry. I recommend to stay away from Firestone. if you know how to do it yourself, it should cost you no more then $200-$300 for both. just goto kragen or autozone for the parts.

From my understanding, there are no springs that will fit the Mark VIII. I had to replace my air bags with springs and Front struts. it's a conversion kit. Check out strut masters. I paid to have the rear springs put on, but did the front struts myself with no help. I jacked the car up, took the olds airbags out then using a jack I lifted the struts into place tighten the three bolt on top. not to tight. This held the struts in place, while I worked dropped the wheel hub. the struts then went right in there. I tighten everything and I was good to go. I saved myself over $300 by doing it myself.
