education and war--
Education--there are many religious schools both past and present, and war--often people from one religion feel that people who don't believe the same way should be killed. Examples both past and present--conflict between Israelis and Palestinians; crusades both old and new of Christians fighting the Muslims.

Organized religion has sponsored faith based initiatives such as the Spanish inquiry where thousands of people were raped, tortured, robbed, and killed. 3. Organized religion helped to end slavery!!!!! That is right, abolitionist were religious and believed that all men were created equally. 4. Organized religion helped in the struggle for civil rights. Again, it was white christians and Jews who joined with African Americans in the south. They were the members who marched on Washington. 5. IF you want to dismiss religion because of its faults, then you need to also mention and consider its successes.
one effect is the rule of law, law come from religion in the first place. second effect would be the fear of god.
1. War. From the Crusades, to even WW2, religion is the hot topic for starting fights over, ever since man first found a stick and thought his ideas were better than the guy over there. 2. Cant remember the exact name of the incident or person, but some guy started a cult in the states, took everyone to their own village in south America, and made it into like a slave labour camp. In the end he made them all drink poisoned kool-aid to kill all of them. That's where the phrase "dnt drink the kool-aid" came form.
