There were two cities that were captured by Union fleets which cut of supplies to the Confederacy. The first city was Mobile Alabama, and the second New Orleans Louisiana, this was known as the Union Blockade.
Having the better industry, as well as a largely effective naval blockade against the Confederacy, the Union had much better weaponry available to them. Some of it was captured by the Confederacy, but not nearly enough the compensate for the industrial abilities of the Union states.

The first Confederate city captured by the Union Army was New Orleans in 1862. New Orleans was the largest port city in the Confederacy. By the end of the war, the Union had also captured Mobile, Savannah, Charleston, and Wilmington in order to deprive the Confederacy of supplies.

Jefferson Davis was incarcerated two years. He had been captured in north Florida two months after the South surrendered. He was imprisoned as he was the leader of the Confederacy that captured a Union fort in Charleston harbor.

In the First Battle of Bull Run, the Union had 481 killed, 1011 wounded and 1216 captured/missing. The Confederacy had 387 killed, 1582 wounded and 13 missing. In the Second Battle of Bull Run, the Union had 1747 killed, 8452 wounded and 4263 captured/missing. The Confederacy had 1096 killed and 6202 wounded.
