The crankshaft sensor is mounted on the left side of the vehicle. On the bell housing upper left side.
The easiest way to remove it is with a Metric 11 socket and a 3 foot extension and possibly a universal joint to place between the extension and the socket.. I was able to locate and replace the sensor in about an hour (I am not a professional mechanic)
If it is the same as my Cherokee it will be on the top of the transmission on the driver side right behind where the engine and transmission join.
crank or cam shaft position sensor is sometime the issue.it will not fuel if it cannot find the position of the cam or crank
