He traveled the Silk Road (map on wiki) into Mongolia where he spent most of his time in Asia. Then he went down into China and sailed to India. From India, he visited Ethiopia or more likely Nubia (as the route must pass through Nubia). Sailed up the Nile and arrived back in Europe.
