In 1620, Massachusetts was characterized by diverse geography, including rocky Coastlines, dense forests, and fertile farmland. The region also featured numerous rivers and waterways, providing access to the sea for trade and transportation. The landscape was challenging for early colonists, but ultimately contributed to the development of the state's economy and culture.

Life in Massachusetts was completely different from life now. The women of the family would stay home to cook and clean while the men went out hunting and working on the fields. Men were also the only ones educated. Of course the Salem witch trials were taking place to causing a huge commotion. It was very primitive and civil when it comes to the ordinary family.

In 1620 there was no "economy" since the land was not developed and the Mayflower landed that year. It was a small colony of 62 people who were trying to establish a way of living. For the first few months they lived on the ship and finally found an area to establish a colony.
