Black out is the state when the power supply to the electrical network of a power plant goes down/ collapses completely. There will be no power available for mail Loads or auxillary loads connected to this network at this point of time.
This is mainly caused by the cascaded tripping of Generator/Lod breakers due to the frequency variation beyond the sustainable limit. Blackout can be prevented by 1). The proper co-ordination of protection relays 2). The Installation of Real time system(PLC/ DCS) for Active-reactive control of generators to act according to load variations/ tripping 3). The Installation of Real time system(SCADA) for Load shedding and Generator Shedding to Save system from undergoing complete loss of generation or Grid connectivity. KAMARUDHEEN KUNINGAD
