Froebel believed that children were not lumps of clay to be molded into whatever we please, for they are already inside who each child is meant to become. The kindergartener helps the child to become the best of who they are by helping the child to unfold from within.

In Froebel's approch to education, children are tended by Kindergartners. The Kindergartners (teachers) guide the children through modelling, repect, conversation and experience, all while following the children's lead. Children are not given the answers or the information to learn, they are given the tools and experiences and lead through conversation to discover the answers/conclusions themselves.

Most current philosophies "fill" a child with information. Froebel is about drawing out from the child and allowing the child to make the connections themselves, more along the lines of Socrates. It is not a 'step by step' approach like Montessori it is more organic and flowing, following each child's unique path.

Friedrich Froebel advocated for hands-on learning through play-based activities in his teaching method known as the Froebel approach. This approach emphasizes the importance of creating a nurturing environment where children can learn through exploration, creativity, and self-expression. Froebel also introduced structured materials like blocks and geometric shapes to help children develop their cognitive skills and understanding of fundamental concepts.
