You should note however, that these outfits are just for representation and festivity purposes; in the case of the mariachi dress, it is mostly worn by professional mariachi bands. Most people in Mexico wear the same clothing Americans and Europeans do, with some exceptions (for instance, very few people wear shorts and sandals on the street, unless jogging or going to the gym).
