Yes! It is possible to cook a sweet potato in the microwave. I have not conducted this experiment though i know that it is possible though the results may not be suitable for eating since if you take a sweet potato and plop it in the microwave whole, there is a large chance the outside wil get burnt and the inside cold or slightly warm.

∙ 13y agoWash the potato, use a fork and poke a few holes into the potato, place on a microwave safe plate with a paper towel under it. Microwave for 5 minuets turn and test softness of potato, microwave for 5 more minuets. Test softness again and repeat turning and cooking until desired softness is achieved.

Wash sweet potatoes. Puncture a few times with a fork. Place on paper towel on microwave-safe dish. Cook on high for 4-5 minutes for the first potato, plus 2-3 minutes for each additional potato. Turn over potatoes halfway through cooking.
