Generally speaking, modern transmission fluids should be changed at about 50 to 60,000 mile intervals, depending on condition and manufacturer's specifications. It's a good idea, of course, to change the transmission filter (on automatic transmissions) at the same time.
As long as the car hasn't been in high water, the transmission hasn't been overheated, and the fluid on the dipstick looks clear and doesn't have a "burnt" smell, there's no need to change it more often than Ford's recommendations.
how do you change the trans fluid on a 1997 328i automatic trans
you have to remove trans pan,and filter will be right there to replace
change trans oil at 15,000 interval
there is a drain plug on the bottom of the trans will drain out about 4 quarts should change the trans filter located on the front of trans while your at it
The bell housing is not the same on the two but if you are doing a change over from a automatic to a stick and have the trans and bell housing the will will fit where a automatic came out.
You have to remove the trans. pan.
The filter on the CD4E automatic trans is NOT user changeable - it's way up inside and doesn't require regular / routine changing.
which trans automatic or stick 4x4 or 2 wd ?
every 50,000 miles if it is an automatic trans.
Automatic trans, 50K, standard trans, 100K.
While there is an external similarity, the ultimate answer is no. Jaguar used a 5-speed automatic made specifically for their car, while the Contour trans is a 4-speed. Since the transmissions are computer controlled, the computer in the Jag wouldn't know how to deal with the Contour, or any other, transmission. Your best bet is to try to find a good Jag trans in a wrecking yard.
No it will not the 98 has a different contour than the 95
