hey! Im a second year medical student and we are just studying moles right now. I think you should get it checked out for sure because itchiness is a very early sign that it coud be skin cancer. Its most likely nothing so dont be afraid to go. Also, if it is skin cancer in most cases its not invasive and they can easily remove it before it becomes a problem. some questions .. . has the mole changed at all? Is it assymetric? Does it have iregular boarders taht are blending into the skin? Is it composed of more then one colour ? It may aslo be worthile for you to consider if you are at a higher risk of skin cancer. Have any of your relatives had skin cancer? Are you light skinned/blue eyed? Do you have many moles on your body? Do you spend a lot of time int he sun??? If you answered yes to any of those questions go get the mole checked out. Skin cancer is one of those things that could easily be avoided when caught early, so if you are suspicious dont ever be afraid to go to the doctors. Ive gone a few times and it turned out to be nothing each time, but I am happy I did bcs it put me at ease. Goodluck!
