None of the Plains tribes were peaceful, in the sense that they all waged continuous war with each other before the white Americans arrived - then (in most cases) they waged war with the whites. The only Plains tribe not to carry on armed resistance against the whites were the Crow of Montana, and they were constantly fighting most of the neighbouring tribes so they can not be described as peaceful.Plains tribes were all based on warrior societies and warfare was part of a man's role in life.
