put a kill switch coming from the condenser and ground it to the body of the lawnmower.......the contact with the frame should ground out the motor thus killing the motor

You should be able to turn the starter with little effort when it is not engaged with the flywheel.
Most lawnmowers loosen to the left. At least that's how I do it.
Sometimes Evelyn's lawn mower does this too. I take a sledgehammer and break it.
Perhaps it is the starter drive. That happened to my riding mower. Got the drive replaced, works fine.
