A balanced equation does not have the same compounds on each side of the equation. A balanced equation has the same atoms on each side of the equation. You are taking some elements or compounds and creating different compounds. For example, you may be taking Iron Ore and Coal to produce Iron. 2FeO + C -> 2Fe + CO2. You take 2 molecules of Iron Oxide and one molecule of Carbon. You get 2 molecules of Iron and one molecule of Carbon Dioxide. That is how steel mills work. Look at your stove. It is made from iron. It began as Iron Ore and Carbon.

Why must chemical be balanced?

There has to be the same amount of atoms of each element on each side of the equation.

Is a chemical equation balanced when each sum of molecules is the same?

Yes. There must be the same number of atoms of each element on each side of the equation.

How does a. balanced chemical equation show that mass is never lost or gained. in a chemical reaction?

Because the Balanced equation can correctly add the reactants and it will equal the sum of the products. If a chemical equation is balanced correctly, there will be the same number of each element on both sides. Since each element has a given and known mass, the total mass on each side of the balanced equation must be equal.

Equations show each side is equal as far as the number of atoms and molecules?

this is called having a balanced equation .....if both sides are not balanced u must correct it by changing the number of moles

How do you tell if a equation is balanced?

An equation is balanced if each atom on both sides are the same amount

Why must chemical equations must be balanced?

chemical equations must be balanced according to the law of conservation of mass: mass cannot be created or destroyed. In other words: it's impossible to have an unbalanced equation that is correct, so do what your teacher tells you to.

What is the balanced chemical equation for magnesium chloride plus sulfuric acid?

A balanced equation MUST have EQUAL numbers of EACH type of atom on BOTH sides of the arrow. The balanced equation for the reaction magnesium chloride plus sulfuric acid is;MgCl2 + H2SO4 ------> MgSO4 + 2HCl.

What is the balanced equation for CACL2plusN2?

CaCl2 + N2 --> ? They will not react with each other, so there is NO (balanced) equation at all.

What is a balanced chemical equation why should the chemical equation be balanced?

A balanced chemical equation is when both the products and the reactants are balanced, or have the same number of atoms on each side of the equation. For example: 2H20 --> 2H2 + O2 This means there are 2 water molecules as the reactants (before reaction) and 4 hydrogen and 2 oxygen atoms as the products (after reaction). Technically the equation wouldn't work in real life if it weren't correctly balanced.

What are the parts of balanced chemical equation?

A balanced equation has equal numbers of each type of atom on each side of the equation. The parts of balanced chemical equation are the reactants on the left side and the products on the right side.
