disconnect the EGR valve on the back of the manifold,the whole egr vacuum circuit malfunctions and it is quicker just to disconnect it out of the system,tip:put ballbearings inside the vacuum lines and plug them back in so it looks like it is connected but it isn't actually working,di this to my Camry and it stopped the surging problem-common fault!
