They replaced for me the Ignition module and Fuel pump relay so that it could be restarted, then the EGR valve to keep it from stalling at stop lights; then I also replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator diaphragm and Idle Air Control Valve, TPS sensor, IAF sensor, and finally the EGR Valve Solenoid which seems to give much more stable idle when in gear at a stoplight.

The alternator has nothing to do with stalling. When did you last replace the fuel filter? If the engine light is on then have a repair shop scan it and repair it. It is cheaper than guessing.
