You have a buildup of pressure in the transmission which may be because it is overfull of Transmission Fluid. I would advice you to immediately take it to a professional, before some serious damage is done.
I Had the same Problem. I change my Transmission screen and replace the gasket. this solved my problem.
The dipstick tube is on the passenger side of the engine. Your problem will be the the dipstick is a special tool that only the dealer has.
Usually it will take about 7 quarts on a Northstar V8. Note of interest...Some Northstars have a tendency to leak when full of oil. Because of this some Northstar owners only put in oil to the middle of the low and fill lines on the dipstick and this seems to solve that little problem. Other than that the Northstar is an amazing engine.
Your engine will speed up & the car won't go any faster (transmission slipping) Or you can pull the dipstick & smell the Transmission Fluid if it smells burnt you may have a problem with the transmission.

You unbolt the pan on the bottom of the trans to access the filter. The problem you will have is that the trans dipstick is a special tool that only the dealer has.
