My 1998 Hyundai Excel has an intermittent indicator problem When they are not working there is no lights on the dash on no clicking sound but if you press the hazard lights they do flash and click?

Its either the flashy or one of the fuses. You can get replacements at Repco. They should cost $30 Aussy dolars max. The easiest way to get to the flashy is to remove the plastic panel to the right of the steering wheel. This should have the brightness adjustment for the speedo. Once this is removed test the indicators and it'll be the black box that viabroates and makes the clicking noise when the indicators are turned on.

i had the same problem, sounded like the flasher was clicking. turns out it was the multi-function switch (turn signal/cruise ctrl/highbeam/washer switch). it was about 300 bucks to have replaced. couldn't do it myself.
