My 2007 Mitsubishi outlander service engine soon light is on but the car runs fine mechanic said it doesn't mean something is wrong but just a warning to service it soon it has 28500 miles is that tru?

yes if you have already gotten it serviced then you may have to just reset the light from your "mode" function to the left of your steering wheel on your dash. That has happened to me before.
