Could be a number of things... It could be air filter, mass air sensor, bad fuel injector, going alternator, bad fuel pump, plugged fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, and the list can go on. The main things that you have to remember is that you need 3 sources to make it run right. Oxygen= air intake... fuel=gas... and heat= spark. it is getting enough while idling but it is being blocked or cut somewhere when you accelerate.
sounds like typical transmission problem
Very good chance the spark arrester screen is clogged. Remove it and give it a good cleaning then replace. Pretty good chance that will fix it.
Need to run a fuel pressure test, and check the fuel filter.
It could be a dirty air filter or a dirty throttle body.
Might want to check your fuel filter if you thinks its not getting gas.
Im having the same problem. Either the cold start things bad or the timings off or both...
If it's a turbo, then it could be a rupture in the intercooler tube or hose attaching the tube to the throttle mechanism. The car will barely run if that is the case. Actually, if it idles ok, then it may not be the intercooler, as it will barely even idle with a ruptured tube or hose. -- John
On my Chevy truck it idles high when its low on antifreeze but if its not that more than likely its usually a vacuum line loose or cracked. good luck.
Check the fuel filter first. There are many possibilities, but that's a good place to start.
check the timing belt. or on the 1996-1998 the crankshaft bolt comes loose and shears woodruff key in crank shaft.
It could be that u arent getting good enough spark from your wires or plug you might want to get a tune up
well they changed it and its not realy good
