i had a similar problem relating to the timing, engine would just bog down and die. I advanced the timing 5 degrees and it runs great now, lays down rubber like crazy. this may help you out, there are also a lot of other factors of course that could cause your issue.
Coolant temp sensor
get a 1966 one there better!
Possibly a bad alternator or battery.
check your acceleration wire.
If it drives fine but dies without warning while slowing down I'd bet on ICM.
More info. What kind of car ?
You might need idle speed adjustments. Check and adjust your valve clearances. You might also have a restriction in the intake or exhaust.
If it starts again after awhile only to do the same thing, the fuel filter is probably clogged.
sounds like an immobilizer fault or the battery in your key is faulty
replace your crank sensor....or when it dies dump cold water on it to see if it starts again
Sounds like it has to do with the micro-chip in the key. Starts for about 3 seconds and dies. In 1999 Ford installed a micro-chip in the ignition key for Anti-theft purposes. If the chip isn't there, or is malfunctioning, the vehicle starts briefly and dies.
I suspect a bad distributor. Honda distributors have been known to fail.
