The cost to fix the coolant system depends on what is broken. It could be less than $100 for a hose to over $1000 for a head gasket. You cannot run the car without coolant because the engine would overheat and seize up.
Alot of diffrent parts to a cooling system. Water pump, hoses, radiator, plugs, seals, and gaskets. Depends on what broke. The only reason you can't drive it is the motor will over heat and even lock up or crack the block. Then you'll need a motor instead. List from cheap to high dollar---plug, hoses, raditor, water pump, then motor.
On my 95 Taurus the cruise control wires broke off inside the steering wheel. After reconnecting them the system worked fine.
A gasket could be the cause of a Jeep Cherokee engine to whistle when it's cold. Check the throttle body gasket to see if it needs to be replaced.
Twelve gallons, which is how many gallons I had to put in when my water pump broke and drained all the coolant on the road.
It truly depends on how you broke it.
The air corn on your passat is not cooling for any number of re sons, linkage problems, one of the mechanical parts is broke but the more than likely reason is the system needs recharging. You mite even have a leak in the system. Take it to a garage you trust ( You can't recharge or check for leaks at home).
because its broke like mine.
First you have to take it apart to see what broke before you can repair anything.
yes you can
pry bar and duc tape
You will have to replace the broken component. With out knowing what line broke, or what part the line broke off of, I can not give a better answer.
