it could be that the valves are not sealing due to dirty seats depending on the age not likely to be valves if its a new vehicle. it could be cauesed if your driveing it over 3000rpm a lot it will burn oil that can be solved by replacing with a heavyer grade of oil or you could have a leek that will only leek while the engine is hot due to metal expansion and contraction (cracked block/dameged sump)
If a Holden Rodeo Turbo Diesel is using oil and new rings and a new turbo have been put in, it could be that the valves are leaking at the seals. Place a clean piece of cardboard under the vehicle overnight to see if it is leaking from the motor.
New seals, new bushings, new connecting rods, new pistons, new rings and hone the cylinders.
Too much oil in the pan. Broken piston rings. Bad turbo bearing seals.
bad valve seals, bad piston rings bad valve seals, bad piston rings
in general gasoline will affect on any diesel component that combine rubber seals ,rubber '0" rings ,and if engine its capable of running will damaged pistons connecting rods by bending them / if you come to this mistake do not crank or start the engine ,towed to your mechanic and have him flush the entire system.
rings or seals
Worn piston rings, bad valve seals,
judge the color and smell of exaust!
to check the piston rings and the valve seals for wear.
bad piston rings Excessive engine wear - Rings, Valve guides, Valve seals
Valve seals will usually cause smoke at start up, and much lees while running, rings will smoke badly while running, and may have issues with crankcase pressure.
